Times table bingo

A game for 2 players

You will need:

  • Fact cards for the table being practised
  • Counters
  • either
  • Bingo board for division facts up to 10x or up to 12x (the same board is used for any times table)
  • or
  • Bingo board for multiplication facts up to 10x or up to 12x (contains separate boards for each times table)
  • or
  • Bingo board for both division and multiplication facts up to 10x or up to 12x (contains separate boards for each times table)
  • How to play

Each player takes a bingo board. Shuffle the fact cards (either division or multiplication or both) and place them in a pile with the calculations face up.

Both players work out the answer to the calculation shown and cross off/cover that number if they have it. That fact card is put to one side, to reveal the next calculation.

Repeat until someone wins by covering all their numbers.

    Variations

  • For multiplication facts, 0 to 10 or 0 to 12 number cards can be used instead of fact cards to provide the number to multiply by. Appropriate dice (10-sided for up to 10x or 12-sided for up to 12 times) can also be used, though it can then often take a while to cross off the last numbers!
  • Learners can make their own boards by recording appropriate numbers for the table being practised.
