A game for 2 or more players

This game gives practice of converting improper fractions to mixed numbers.

How to play

First agree how many points are needed to win – 5 is a reasonable target.

Players take turns to roll both dice, then write an improper fraction using the higher number rolled as the numerator and the lower number as the denominator.

Each player converts their improper fraction to a mixed number .

The player whose mixed number has the most whole ones, scores a point. If there is a tie, both players score a point.

The winner is the first player to score the agreed number of points.

Use a multiplication square , manipulatives and drawings for support as appropriate
