Multiplication square 4 in a row
A game for 2 or more players
This game familiarises learners with the multiplication square and gives practise of the times table facts.
You will need:
How to play
Take turns to roll the dice twice to make a multiplication calculation, then find the answer to that fact on the square and cover it with one of your counters. The answer will usually appear in 2 places, so you can choose strategically which one to cover!
E.g. 2 x 6 = 12. This can be found by counting across the row of 2s six times, or across the row of 6s twice. You cannot put a counter on 12 which is in the row of 3s or 4s, as that does not reflect the calculation.
The first person to get 4 of their counters in an unbroken line wins.
