A game for 2 or more players

This game gives practice of finding a percentage of a number.

You will need:

Sticks/cards with percentages (10%, 20% etc) written on them

A multiples of 10 dice or multiples of 10 number cards

How to play

Place the percentage sticks face down or put them in a bag to be drawn from. If using number cards instead of dice, shuffle them and place them in a face down pile.

Each player picks a percentage stick/card then rolls the dice (or picks a random multiple of 10 card). Players record their calculation and work out the answer by first by 10 dividing to find 10%, then multiplying this to get their target percentage.

The person with the largest answer wins a point. The first player to gain 3 points wins the game.

Variation

Altering the percentages and dice/numbercards allows for more challenge and calculating with decimals:

Use extra place value dice to work with numbers with more than 2-digits

Include multiples of 5 in the percentages (15%, 25%, 35% etc)

Roll place value dice to generate the percentage

Roll place value dice to generate a 2, 3 or 4-digit amount
