A game for 2 or more players

This game gives practise of subitising and subtracting within 10 to find the difference.

How to play

Shuffle the cards together. Each player draws 2 cards and finds the difference by subtracting the smaller number from the larger. Learners can be encouraged to subitise and cover the amount to be subtracted, to see the difference which remains.

Whoever has the highest difference keeps the cards.

Repeat until there are no cards left in the draw pile (or for an agreed amount of time/draws). The player who has gained the most cards wins.
